It explains the difference between academic and scientific research. The research proposal is more of an exact question. The paper must be presenting a side of a topic and needs to dig into the question. The intro should create an interest in the topic. So the main points of a research proposal is to garner reader attention and precisely answer the questions that are being asked.
A research paper must also have a clear topic, things must be easy for the readers.

Research Outline
The site I used for this was Purdue OWL. It mainly focuses on the correct way to set up an outline. It gives ideas such as to keep the main topics more broad and narrow them down in the subheadings. Also if you are looking to grip readers attention with the outline, it must be set up correctly by having all headings and subheadings lining up. Also a main component is to have good headings, ones that will have the reader thinking that they really want to read what the writer has to say.

Proposal
My research proposal will be answering the question, “Golf: Is it a tool to look into a person’s character?” I will be using many sources of information that has already been researched. Also, interviews and/or questionnaires will be used to obtain new information. The topic also digs into golf in many ways such as social, business and professional.
My introduction will start similar to something along the lines of this: Golf has always been a good way to relieve stress or have fun with others. After many years of playing one begins to realize that there is more to the game then meets the eye. Since golf is such a mental game, it is logical that some of the actions on the course could relate to a person’s everyday life and interactions. This research will be looking in to the mental game of golf and anything that relates to golf and the realization of another’s character.
For my studies on this subject I plan on talking to fellow golfers to get their views on the matter. Also I will take my research to the course and observe others while they play. I think that this will be a very invaluable resource, since the best way to find out about something is to observe and experience it.
