Reflective Letter
Dear Marlen,
When looking back at this semester, I realize how different things were than I thought they would be. I came into the class expect another boring ass class, but I was proved wrong. The many assignments we did, to the class atmosphere, this class was easy to come to every time and not sit in the room bored out of my mind for 50 minutes. This is one class I definitely didn’t regret taking.
When I think of my progress over the semester, I realize how much I’ve grown as a writer and a reader. I find myself now reading my paper as if I was a different person, looking for errors and trying to identify who the audiences for my papers are. Also instead of just printing a paper off and turning it in, I have a friend or roommate look over my work. Little things like this, that I will be doing for the rest of my college career, just show that I am integrating information I used in this class and have started to apply it to other courses and classes.
When thinking of specific assignments that I would say were the most helpful, I can list many off. The blogs were helpful to me, I never liked doing them, but the ones I did helped me when we were starting a new essay. They would challenge me but I could always get a few paragraphs, this would help the development of my essays. This was definitely not the only helpful thing, but it is one that I never usually mentioned and didn’t realize the help that it gave me.
If I were to grade this class I would definitely give it an A. The atmosphere, workload, and assistance we were given were all great. Other things that I liked were the readings that we printed off at the beginning of the year. They weren’t my favorite at the time to read, but having to annotate them gave me a chance to learn how a professor wanted to see the annotation of a reading.
When looking at the work I completed throughout the semester, I see some papers that could be published. I haven’t tried to publish any; maybe I could though, in the future. Even though I haven’t submitted any, I know some are worthy. When looking at all of my work, my attendance and performance, I hope that I can receive a B in this class or better. I completed most of the work and everything important that we did. When I look back at the class I really believe that I earned at least a B.
In closing, I would like to say thank you Marlen for the fun and interesting class. If I had to change anything about this class I would really have to look hard and think about it. The only thing I can really come up with would have to be tweaking the blog assignments. They were good, it just seemed that we had to do to many, if that was toned down I think this class would improve even more.
